My hubby loves dumplings. He can eat this for breakfast every.single.day if he could. We used to buy the frozen dumplings from Asian Supermarket but lately I've been making them myself. Turned out it's not hard to make just takes time. So let's make some homemade dumplings.
Mix all the ingredients inside a mixing bowlWes was helping me by putting some water on the dumpling edge
Place about one tablespoon of the mixed ingredients on the skin
I watched a lot of youtube video to learn "the proper" way to fold dumpling. Turned out there are many different ways. This one and this one are two videos I found to be helpful.
Pinch, fold press
You can cook them right away or freeze them for later use.
I usually just steam them in the steamer for about 10 minutes until cooked.
Or traditional method which is a little bit more complicated:
Heat 2 tablespoon of oil in a non-stick pan. Once the oil is hot, place some dumplings on top then cook until the skin turned brown. Add 1/2 cup of boiling water to the pan then cover it with lid to allow the water to steam until the dumplings are cooked.
Eat with dumpling sauce, soy sauce, Sriracha, or Thai Sweet Chilli Sauce
Enjoy!
