Why we love Trader Joe's and what we buy there

Wednesday, September 2, 2015

If you read my post on What I buy at Whole Foods; you probably knew I am not a big Whole Foods fan. I know it carries great organic stuffs and many people love it but my frugal self prefer our local Farmer Market and Trader Joe's instead.

I fell in love with Trader Joe's upon learning that they give lots of their unsold products to local charities. In addition, Trader Joe's keeps its price low that the store never offers weekly specials or sales on its products, which is great for a non-coupon-lover-who-like-to-go-grocery-shopping-when-I-want-to-not-on-the-store-sales-day-shopper like me. Buzz Feed article on Trader Joe's gave further information if you like to learn more about it.

What we buy there:
Banana - We use it for smoothies, pancake, muffin, or eat it as is for snacks. We have one banana lover in the house that would eat bananas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if we let him.

Fruits and Vegetables. My first pick would be our local Farmer Market but I often couldn't make it during the times it opens so Trader Joe's is my second choice to get fresh produce:

Tortillas

Milk, eggs, yogurtorange juice, and heavy cream for ice cream

Hummus, Mozzarella, Pesto, and Cheese

Lemonade concentrate- just add water + strawberry + ice cubes + frozen berries + mint leaves and you get yourself a very tasty and refreshing Strawberry Lemonade drink for hot days.

Maple Syrup, and the most delicious Chocolate Croissants

Alcohol and wines for cooking and baking

$10 Orchids

Succulents

and Herbs. You can put them outdoor or

indoor

non chemical cleaning and beauty products

If you ask my 4 years old why he loves Trader Joe's his answer would be, "I love Trader Joe's because it has shopping carts for me and they give free snacks/ samples and stickers."

Any other goodies I miss? Please chime in the comment.
