Max loves strawberries jam so I decided to make my own to replace the store bought one, which was made with long list of ingredients:
This recipe only has 2 ingredients: strawberries and sugar (I used the organic one from Costco). I tried recipe that use pectin but the texture was quite similar with this one so I decided to eliminate it.
We are so blessed to be able to get this beautiful fruit from the local Farmer Market all year round.
Have you heard the rinsing-strawberries-with-vinegar-trick to make berries last longer and I am sold!
Back to strawberry making; the only con with this version is since it use MUCH less sugar, it has to be stored in refrigerator to keep it from molding.
The process:
Place the berries and sugar inside a pan.
Cook for about 15 minutes or until the strawberries are soft
Let it cools. Then use hand mixer or regular blender to crush the berries to your desired texture
Enjoy!
